Instead of dealing with the paradox of appropriating abstract marks for abstract paintings two dimensionally, the Monochrome series expands on this by creating a three dimensional ‘model’ of painting. Jenny is interested in the two dimensional paintings being read as diagrams of painting, with literal viusal cues. In this series, the models are akin to a science classroom model: an enlarged ear, pastel hued melamine, exxagerations in colour and texture.
