Instead of dealing with the paradox of appropriating abstract marks for abstract paintings two dimensionally, the Monochrome series expands on this by creating a three dimensional ‘model’ of painting. The colours and textures are exaggerated, and borrow aesthetics from educational models you might see in schools or dentists (interesting scale, heightened colour palettes, simplification)
